9 Technologies That Deserve To Die

1 Lie Detectors
Lie detectors offer great hand to investigation officers in cracking the case up. Contrary to accepted belief, lie detectors are not absolutely credible with the out-put results. May be this is the reason for Sharon stone’s dialogue in basic instincts about bluffing with lie detectors.

2 Cosmetic Implants
Humans obsession for looks, which is not absolutely a bad trait, had led many cosmetic techniques to pop up to puff you. The lip job, nose job, the job to enhance flesh in some areas stuffing with silicon all comes up with the price, not money but health issues. So if there could be a technology to help natural muscle to grow and shape-in the way you want, it could seriously save us from artificial, flesh imitating fill-ins.

3 Prisons
There where prisons in the time of pharaohs and are yet prevalent in today’s times. Not that the offenders of the law should be punished leniently, but the way adopted is still ancient, like restricting the offenders behind steel bars.

4 Land mines
Man always is in hunt for novel things; may have rejoiced with find of land mines. “Just plant and watch your enemies blowing into ash and dust upon placing even tender foot on land mines” could be the inventors say or the one who planted the land mines. These landmines which have failed to take enemies down are now patiently hidden to take common man or grazing animals down.

5 Nuclear weapons
Nuclear power can offer solution to present energy crises, may propel future space crafts to explore universe; it also is a dreaded power which has potential to obliterate our blue home. We have been a witnesses to biggest vile a human can commit to another human. Hiroshima and Nagasaki episode is forever etched in to our common psyche. But are we taking notice of? Can we curb our obsession to horde nuclear weapons, which has no other use than bring chaos onto us? What if a fanatic gets his hands on these weapons? These questions for sure will make you squeal.

6 Manned Spaceflight
We as human are triumphant for conquering space; stepping on the mythical, romance inciting space object, moon. More-so-ever U.S. can beat its chest like King Kong and pride on being first on moon. The space trip costs millions of dollars, and astronauts are dare devils who can risk their life for knowledge and glory. Ultimately all sums up into goal oriented space excursions, which if achieved even without sending a man in space. So there’s a call for technology which can make the astronauts space travel less dare-devil sort of exercise, or something which obsoletes the need for astronauts.

7 Incandescent Light Bulbs
These bulbs burn a tungsten coil to give out light and uncomfortable heat. The device sports look of some electric stove, inverted and a glass bulb fixed on it. The incandescent light bulbs also race power meter to compete with racing bikes, meanwhile the bill reaches sky high. These devices are yet in use especially in rural areas while innovations like compact fluorescent bulbs and light emitting diodes are now affordable and performance is for better.

8 Coal-based Powers
Coal had been that fossil fuel which led to the inception of technological and industrial growth. It powered steam engines for rail transport, steam turbines in industry for products. If the coal is yet playing active part in our day to day lives, like its use in coal power plants, and some of the industry which require high temperatures, it is a sad situation. The era which was dependent on coal as energy resource, had pristine environment which could withstand the onslaught of pollution. The coal had significantly harmed our environment ever since it was first put to use. It spews more pollutants than any other fossil fuels. Global warming, change in climates, suspended particles in air, and acid rain, are few to name the wreck coal can cause. It’s time we go beyond coal, and find other means less harmful and more productivity than coal.

9 Internal-Combustion Engine
The internal combustion engine was a ground-breaking invention, which packed power in to relatively smaller engines when compared to the sluggish, huge machines running on coal. The IC engines yet rule the roost; the vroom from F1 cars can pump your heart with excitement. The rise in fuel prices, the rising pollution, and crude oil reserves reaching dry bottom of earth are causes for concern. With all this fast changing technology being current trend of this era, why Isn’t some big change coming in to kick IC engines out. Sure hydrogen powered engines offer some hope, but this technology is yet slippery, and may take some time to root into our transportation system. Hope we get something good before gasoline or environment make living a survival.
